How much does it cost to record a podcast in Madrid?

5 min readUpdated on 24 August 2026

It's the first question everyone asks, so let's get straight to it: recording a podcast in a professional studio in Madrid costs between €240 and €480 for a two-hour session, depending on whether you record audio only or video with the edit included. If the session runs long, each extra hour is between €120 and €240.

Now the useful part: what drives that range, and how to choose without paying for things you don't need.

What does the price depend on?

Three things, basically:

  • Whether you record audio only or video too. Video multiplies the kit involved (cameras, lighting, crew), and that is why the price goes up. An audio podcast is considerably cheaper.
  • How many people sit in front of the microphone. A two-person conversation doesn't cost the same as a table with five guests: more microphones, more cameras and more mixing work.
  • How far the production goes. Recording and handing you the edited episode is one thing; building the whole format — concept, script, graphics, vertical clips — is another, and that is quoted per project.

There's a fourth factor, less obvious: how much you get out of the session. Almost nobody records a single episode. If you're doing a season, the sensible thing is to run several episodes back to back in the same session and extend it by the hour.

Real prices, no small print

These are our rates in San Sebastián de los Reyes, so you have a sense of the market (prices exclude VAT):

Service 2-hour session Extra hour
Podcast recording (audio only) €240 €120
Video podcast recording and editing €480 €240
Video podcast · 360° service On request Bespoke project

Every option includes the room, the technical kit and the crew. This isn't "here's an empty room, good luck": if something goes wrong during the recording, there is someone there to sort it out. And with the video podcast, the final edit is in the price: you leave with an episode ready to publish, not a folder of rushes.

One session or a longer one?

The minimum booking is two hours, and from there it extends by the hour. The rule of thumb: stacking episodes into one long session works out considerably better than coming back another day.

  • A two-hour session makes sense for a one-off episode, a format test or a specific interview.
  • The extended session is what almost everyone serious about the format does: you set up once and record two, three or four episodes in a row. The cost per episode drops sharply.

An example with numbers: a four-hour video podcast session is €960 (€480 for the first two hours, plus two extra hours at €240). If you record three episodes in those four hours, that works out at €320 per episode. Recorded separately, across three two-hour sessions, it would be €1,440 — that is, €480 per episode. And you save yourself two trips, two set-ups and two rounds of getting mentally ready.

What's usually left out of the price?

This is where the nasty surprises show up in some quotes. It's worth always asking whether these are included:

  • The vertical clips for social (Reels, TikTok, Shorts).
  • The graphics: title sequences, name captions for guests, end cards.
  • Distribution on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and the rest.
  • Rounds of changes: how many are included before they start being invoiced.

In our case, the video podcast session includes the recording and the final edit. If what you want is the full package — creative, script, animation, post-production and verticals for social — that is the 360° service, which is quoted per project.

What if I record it in my office and skip the studio?

You can, of course. But it's worth doing the full sum.

The problem with an office is almost never the picture: it's the sound. A room with echo, the hum of the air conditioning or noise from the street cannot be fixed in post-production. And an episode that sounds like a video call burns the money you're about to spend promoting it.

If you're recording two episodes and the finish doesn't matter to you, go ahead. If you're going to sustain a format over time and put your brand's face on it, the studio stops being an expense and becomes the thing that makes the content publishable.

Is it more expensive to record in Madrid?

In central Madrid, usually yes: studios in prime areas pass their rent on to the rate. And there's a cost that never appears on any quote: time and parking.

We're in San Sebastián de los Reyes, on the A-1 corridor: 10 to 15 minutes from Alcobendas, La Moraleja and Las Tablas, with private parking at the door. For teams coming from north Madrid, that's two hours of the day you don't lose.

So how much will it cost me?

It depends on your format, but as a guide:

  • Testing the format (one episode, audio only): €240, the two-hour session.
  • A one-off video podcast, edited: €480, the two-hour session.
  • A season of 3-4 episodes recorded in one go: between €960 and €1,200, depending on how many hours the session runs.

If you want the exact figure for your case, the quickest thing is to tell us the format you have in mind: how many guests, how many episodes and whether you need full production.

You can see the full breakdown on our pricing page, or write to us and we'll put together a fixed proposal. If it suits you, we'll invite you to see the studio over a coffee: a 30-minute tour, a mic test, and you leave with a sample recording of your own.
